AES Launches New Marketing Campaign

Advanced Energy Systems of Oregon is announced today, that in conjunction with the airing of ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition episode on Halloween Night, their first television commercial will air. With a theme of "Advance It", and a tag line of "Solar that Works", this new commercial will highlight, and publicize the past and future success of AES in the area of commercial and residential solar integrations.

As part of the Extreme Makeover Home Edition episode, filmed on location in Salem Oregon, AES was an integral part of the construction, and installed a solar array on the new Oregon School for the Deaf. The 6kW Photovoltaic system was installed in just under 8 hours, and features solar modules donated by Sanyo Corporation, and an inverter donated by PV Powered. AES employees and technicians designed, and installed the array, along with providing the electrical components and racking.

The new commercial, produced by  the award winning advertising firm of Adams, Hull + MacCluer, is a testament to Solar Energy, and was extremely well received in local focus group testing.

The new commercial will air on October 31st, 2010 during ABC's broadcast beginning at 8:00 PM, and will be seen in the Willamette Valley, and coastal markets of Oregon.

All Electric Prius Debuts in Eugene

Advanced Energy Systems was on hand to witness the public viewing of a new All Electric Prius Hybrid. The event was held today at the Eugene Train Station, and Mayor Kitty Piercy was on hand to talk about this new technology, and how it relates to the City in it's ongoing effort to promote sustainability. The new Prius can be charged by electricity, and it can operate for an estimated 14 miles before it then switches over to the traditional electric/fuel hybrid mode of power.

Advanced Energy Systems(AES) is currently promoting and gearing up to install Electric Vehicle Charging stations throughout Eugene, and Lane County. AES has developed an EV station coupled with a Solar SunStation that can generate power via a Solar Array, and also charge the Electric Vehicles. AES is a qualified installer of EV Fueling Stations. In the coming months AES will be installing EV Charging stations at private businesses, and has made plans to be part of the public integration of EV Charging stations.

Local Press Visits Food for Lane County Solar Array Unvieling

On September 8th, 2010, FOOD for Lane County, located in Eugene, Oregon in conjunction with Advanced Energy Systems and Gary Marcus, system developer, gave a tour of the 87kW Solar array on the roof of the food warehouse. Nearing completion, this was a great opportunity to see in person what has been under construction.

Advanced Energy Systems Principal, Eric Nill was in attendance to help with the unveiling of the facility. Food for Lane County Executive Director Beverlee Hughes got her first chance to see the facility up close. FOOD for Lane County will reap benefits from the system in the form of yearly rent payments from the system developer, and at the end of 10 years, they system will be donated to the non-profit organization.

The energy the system will generate — each year for 25 years after the nonprofit agency takes ownership — will be the equivalent of what it costs to feed 20 people three meals a day, according to FOOD for Lane County.

Food for Lane County Executive Director Beverlee Hughes and Gary Marcus get a sky high view of the rooftop solar array, along with a local TV News Reporter from KEZI TV in Eugene.

Food for Lane County PV Project Moving Forward

As of today, finishing touches on the rails, racking and wiring were being completed. Early next week the SolarWorld brand Modules will be hoisted up to the rooftop, and attached to the racking system. Each module will be linked with other modules in strings of 13. Each string of 13 then gets combined into the main feed to the inverter.

The layout, design and installation of the racking has all been accomplished by AES professional trained employees, using Northwest products, with an emphasis on Oregon manufacturing.

EVSunStation is Launched by Advanced Energy Systems.

Advanced Energy Systems has completed design work, and has added  the EVSunStation (TM) to the growing list of renewable energy solutions available to clients.

"The SunStation is a free-standing carport and electric vehicle charging station that is available in either a 10KW or 14KW size" explained chief designer Thomas Brex. Brex also pointed out that "this solar charging station is almost entirely comprised of Oregon-made products." Advanced Energy Systems, is an Oregon-based contractor, so owners can feel confident that purchasing the car charging station will help support companies and workers in Oregon. Advanced Energy Systems also plans to market the EVSunStation (TM) outside of Eugene, and is actively looking for strategic installation partners in other states.

Current Federal incentives offer as much as $50,000 credit towards the installation of an EVSunStation (TM), however interested parties are urged to act fast as these incentives are only available until December 31st, 2010 (unless renewed).

For more information on the SunStation, AES invites you to click here and send an email, or complete our Contact Us form on our website.

Local Food Bank gets Solar from Advanced Energy Systems

Advanced Energy Systems is currently installing an 85 KW photovoltaic system on the roof of Food For Lane County, a local Food Bank. When completed, the system is estimated to generate over 95,000 KW of electricity annually. Over the anticipated 35 year lifespan of the project, over 3 million KW hours are expected to be produced. That is ...the equivalent of over 260,000 gallons of gasoline. Translated to an automobile burning fuel at 27 mpg, that automobile could circle the globe 271 times just on the output of one rooftop system. The project is using SolarWorld modules, and touts the fact that over 90% of the components are produced in Oregon.
