AES and the Housing Authority of Portland installs largest Solar Thermal to date.

The Housing Authority of Portland in building the Resource Access Center for low income housing in Downtown Portland Oregon. As part of the construction, Advanced Energy Systems is finishing up the largest solar thermal array ever installed in Oregon. This array features a 117 collector (2832 sq ft.) drainback solar water heating system, as manufactured by Heliodyne. Each collector is a 4'x6' unit installed on the mechanical penthouse structure above the roof  with bronze anodized racking.  System includes a 5000 gallon Trendsetter  insulated solar storage tank, 8 internal heat exchangers, solar pump, balancing valves, pressure relief valve, gauges, solar loop piping, high temperature insulation, 5000 gallons distilled water and all materials for a complete solar water heating system.
